Self-defence through Brazilian Jujitsu
A charity class with Phillip Grapsas for
Good Shepherd Centre
This is a safe class where natural and functional movements are used and the focus is on a few practical techniques to show how you can maintain a calm mind and obtain leverage in a real-life situation. The self-defence method that will be introduced in this two-hour session is Gracie Jujitsu, a form of Brazilian Jujitsu that combines techniques from wrestling and Judo. This workshop is suitable for men and women of all fitness levels, and of any age (13years+).

Level: Suitable for beginners, no experience in Martial Arts required

About Phillip Grapsas
Phillip is a highly qualified black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu who along with having extraordinary Jiu Jitsu skills is also an expert in self-defence. The focus of his teaching is to ‘get you home alive’ hence an emphasis on practical techniques which can be used in real life situations.
Phillip has been a student of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for almost 14 years. He has been a student of Murat Karadenizli for almost 8 years. Murat is the first Australian to receive his black belt from Professor Sauer, a huge honour. In August 2013, Phillip Grapsas became only the second Australian to ever achieve the rank of Black Belt in the Pedro Sauer Association. An indication of his hard work, and dedication to the art as a method of self-defence.
